Former Arsenal defender Steve Morrow believes Liverpool co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks will ride out the current storm.
Morrow, 37, believes the Texan and his partner will ride out the current storm and, given time, revive Liverpool's fortunes.
"Part of the problem is just the fact that Tom Hicks is here in Texas and Liverpool is a long way away," Morrow told the Daily Mail. "People in England might wonder how much day-to-day involvement he has.
"But I'm sure he wouldn't have taken the job on if he didn't think he could give it everything and make a success of it.
"He certainly has a reputation for doing things his own way. But he's turned the Rangers and Stars into two very big organisations, and I don't think anyone can argue with his record.
"Both guys have got great respect over here and done a tremendous job for sport in this country.
"They know more about the business side than anybody and what they want to try to achieve."
Despite talking to Klinsmann as an "insurance policy" before he agreed to take over at Bayern Munich, Morrow believes the Americans' fractured relationship with Benitez is not beyond repair.
He added: "It's obviously not good if they're interviewing somebody else for the job! I wouldn't feel too secure if I was the head coach in that position.
"I work with my ownership group here and communication is a very important thing here on a day-to-day basis. Whether that happens between those guys, I'm not sure.
"Clearly something needs to come to a head and they have to sit down and work out whatever differences they've got. But you can't argue that everybody shares the same goal for the best interests of the club."
