Argentine playmaker Walter Gaitan is in the sights of FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman. Gaitan, once of Boca Juniors, has been playing in Mexico for the past seven years with Tigres and Nexaca.

The 31 year-old is understood to be a free agent and Hyndman told mlsnet.com: "I think we are getting close.

"It will happen before we go back home to Dallas. Gaitan is a player that we have had discussion about. ... But I think we are bringing it down to potentially two players, and whoever it is would be a nice addition for our team."
