FC Dallas recruit Jair Benitez is looking for further improvement after making his MLS debut on the weekend.

The Colombian left-back, who has joined on loan from Deportivo Cali, made his first appearance for Dallas in Friday night's 4-2 loss to Real Salt Lake and was happy to get some experience in a new competition.

"I feel that it was a good experience," Benitez said of his debut at Rio Tinto Stadium. "It was good to get the start. We lost, which isn't good but I feel that I can continue to improve. As I continue to improve, hopefully I can help the team."

"I feel the speed of play is faster there and there is higher pressure," he added. "Those are the two main differences that I noticed."
