FC Basle whizkid wonderkid Xherdan Shaqiri fluffed his lines in front of Premier League scouts.

Shaqiri is interesting Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool ahead of the January, but struggled in Switzerland's defeat to Wales.

The playmaker, who called himself "something special" after an Under-21 match, scored a hat-trick in the Swiss' last outing against Bulgaria.

But he barely had a touch before being hauled off on the hour - impressive Swansea City left-back Neil Taylor will not have had any easier clashes this season.
