FC Basel have set their asking price for Manuel Akanji.

The 22 year-old defender has caught the eye in Champions League action this season, including against Manchester United home and away.

BILD says both Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool have Akanji under consideration for the January market.

And Basel are willing to sell in January for €20m.

Liverpool see Akanji as an alternative to Southampton stopper Virgil van Dijk. The Reds are willing to sign him next month and loan the Switzerland international back to FCB for the remainder of this season.
