Abdoulaye Faye has revealed he rejected three rival offers to sign for Sam Allardyce's Newcastle United.
The former Bolton midfielder told the Sunday Sun: "Wigan, Portsmouth, Manchester . . . there were three or four other clubs wanting to sign me.
"But obviously I had worked with Sam at Bolton. He had confidence in me and I had confidence in him, so I thought it would be a good thing to come here."
Faye also revealed: "I spoke to Amady Faye before I joined Newcastle and he said this was a great club."
