Fatboy Slim aiming to cheer Brighton to Stoke Cup shock

DJ legend Fatboy Slim is excited seeing his Brighton preparing for their FA Cup tie with Stoke City.

Norman Cook - aka Fatboy Slim - is delighted with his role in the club's revival.

He said: "For all the people who marched, petitioned and prayed over the years for a new ground, to see it become bricks and mortar is fantastic.

"It's poetic justice my geography block was demolished to get the stadium in. The way Gus has got us playing, I'm confident we'll be in the Championship. I hope he stays as we've lost managers who complained about not having a proper ground with decent facilities - Gus can't say that!"

One thing that may horrify Brighton fans is that the famous DJ was once a fan of bitter enemies Crystal Palace.

He explained: "I lived near Selhurst Park as a kid, that's where I'm from, so I supported Palace. But I moved to Brighton when they were on the run that took them to the final with Manchester United in 1983.

"The fever sweeping the place had a big impact and I fell in love with the Albion."
