This afternoon's final of the Victorian Premier League between Richmond and Green Gully was destined to be a noisy affair.
Green Gully president and long time football identity Charlie Farrugia went to every length possible to ensure his team, led by NSL Championship coach and former Hull City player Ian Dobson, was passionately supported.
Farrugia laid on 20 buses full of Green Gully juniors all paid for by the Club as well as entry into AAMI Park.
The final was to be played for by two of the least supported clubs in the league.
Football Federation Victoria stood to lose many thousands of dollars to showcase the State's ultimate fixture at the new home of football in Victoria.
At least Green Gully made a commendable effort to get fans there.
