Farina cops a week, Brisbane hit with fine

The independent Match Review Panel consisting of Barry Such (Chair), Alan Davidson and Simon Micallef convened to consider the following incidents from Round 3:

- The expulsion of Frank Farina from the Technical Area in the 89th minute of the match between Brisbane Roar and Wellington Phoenix on Sunday 23 August 2009. For use of offensive or abusive language against a Match Official, Mr Farina receives a mandatory suspension of one (1) Hyundai A-League match.

Separately, FFA has written to Brisbane Roar alleging Team Misconduct for having more than five (5) participants cautioned or sent-off in a match. Having been found guilty of Team Misconduct in Round 1, Brisbane Roar were placed on a $1,000 bond. Accordingly, Brisbane Roar are immediately liable for that penalty. Brisbane Roar has until the close of business this Wednesday to respond to the charge arising from Sunday's match.
