Fans are petitioning Chelsea to hand John Terry a new contract.

The 35-year-old, who has been with the Blues since the age of 14, announced on Sunday that the club weren't willing to give him a new contract amid managerial uncertainty.

Over 3,000 Chelsea fans have signed a petition on change.org demanding the club give Terry a new one-year deal.

Suraj Patel, who started the petition, wrote: "I believe that John Terry, the greatest defender to grace the Premier League and the captain of Chelsea Football Club, deserves a new contract at the end of the season.

"He is arguably the greatest player in the club's history and to let him leave at the end of the season, possibly without a trophy, would be a catastrophic mistake by the club. He is Mr Chelsea, give him what he deserves."
