Fans have key role to play in Leicester's survival battle - Pearson

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has emphasized the importance of the club's supporters in his side's fight against relegation.

After looking dead and buried a couple of weeks ago, the Foxes have managed to give themselves a fighting chance of avoiding the drop following two consecutive Premier League victories over West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.

During the triumphs, the Leicester fans have been in great voice in inspiring the team and Pearson is certainly appreciative of the Foxes faithful for their support, suggesting they will make a difference in the remaining seven fixtures.

"I was very impressed against West Ham," said Pearson in the Leicester Mercury. "What that showed was, regardless of what people think, is the fans are still behind the team and that is the important thing.

"The fans have a big role to play. The players and staff noticed it against West Ham. A lot of people were talking about the atmosphere after the game.

"That is quite unusual, really, to have so many people talking about how good the atmosphere was. That is something we have to replicate because it really did make a difference."
