Fans angry as Jeonbuk Motors midfielder Eninho considered for South Korea

The Korean Football Association has come under fire from fans this week with the revelation that national team manager Choi Kang-hee is pushing for the naturalization of Jeonbuk Motors midfielder Eninho.

The 31-year-old Brazilian has been tapped as a possible candidate for Korean citizenship to help the Olympic and national squad in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. However, the Korean Olympic Committee denied the request earlier this week, though Choi hopes the committee will reconsider according to the Korea Times.

"It has to win by any means possible. Thus, I will try my best to do everything in my power," he said yesterday at a press conference in Seoul.

The manager also caused a stir amongst fans by selecting Arsenal's Park Chu-young, whose embattled in a mandatory military service scandal after he obtained a residence permit from Monaco in March, delaying his military service for ten years.

"Park did not say he would not do his army service. To my knowledge, he has just postponed it," KFA chief technical director Kwan Hwang-bo said last Wednesday. "Everyone agrees he is needed for the team."

South Korea's first qualifying match for the 2014 Brazil World Cup takes place June 8th against 84th ranked Qatar in Doha.
