Kevin De Bruyne admits he was not favoured by playing as a 'false nine' in Manchester City's loss to Barcelona on Wednesday night.
The Belgian playmaker was deployed in the position to help City pack their midfield at the Nou Camp, with Sergio Aguero preferred on the bench, and despite admitting it isn't where he plays his best football, he is happy to play any role for manager Pep Guardiola.
"I'm not used to playing it," he said.
"I did it a couple of times (previously).
"It was difficult in the beginning because they are a good team but I think we pressed good - even a team like Barca had to play a lot of long balls and shoot the ball out.
"Obviously it's not my best position but I'll do what the coach asks me to do and do my job."
City and De Bruyne will look to bounce back when they take on Southampton at home on Sunday.
