Falkirk's Arfield: Transfer talk driving Ma batty!

Falkirk midfielder Scott Arfield is staying calm over today's transfer deadline day. Hibs boss John Hughes had two bids knocked back yesterday by the Bairns board, who are holding out for £750,000.

Arfield said: "I just look on it as flattering. It's complimentary.

"It doesn't affect me but it affects my ma - she's up to high-doh. She's running about thinking I'm away. She doesn't know it's all just speculation.

"If it said Real Madrid wanted me she'd be phoning my nan. But it's not affecting me luckily. It looks like I'm still going to be a Falkirk player.

"I'm very privileged to be part of the club and if I'm there for another year or whatever I'll be happy.

"When the Falkirk gaffer announced there were clubs in for me I was surprised because I'd not heard about it.

"I've been getting some stick off the lads. Chris Mitchell has beeen calling me Billy Big Time but it's all just banter.

"You always look at England and aspire to going there one day. But if 5pm comes and I'm still a Falkirk player, then I won't be disappointed."
