Striker Mark Stewart has signed a twelve month contract extension with Falkirk. New Bairns boss Eddie May told www.falkirkfc.co.uk: "I spoke to Mark regarding an extension to his contract and the deal was agreed within minutes.
"He was delighted to extend his stay here and we were delighted to be able to offer him this extension.
"He has some outstanding attributes and is developing all the time as a player.
"He will have a big part to play this season and I am sure he will thrive on the challenge of being increasingly involved with the first team."
He added: "We now have strong competition for places in the forward areas with Carl Finnigan, Mark Stewart, Alex MacDonald, Ryan Flynn, Neil McCann and Paul Sludden all fighting it out for a first team place.
"However, before the closure of the transfer window, I will still be looking to add at least one more forward but it has to be the right type."
