Falkirk to open contract negotiations on Monday

Several Falkirk players will discuss their future with boss John Hughes on Monday morning. Stevie Lovell, along with half-a-dozen or so of the Bairns side which lost 1-0 to Rangers in Saturday's Homecoming Scottish Cup final at Hampden, is now out contract.

Lovell, 28, said: "I am out of contract like a lot of the boys and I'm not sure who is staying and who is going.

"I will speak to the manager and see what he wants to do.

"I don't see why I shouldn't stay, I've enjoyed every minute of being here.

"We stayed up on the last day of the season and we got to a cup final and another semi-final, so things couldn't have gone better.

"There are young players coming through.

"Guys like Scott Arfield and Tam Scobbie are brilliant and there are other young players who weren't even playing at Hampden.

"It has always been that way at Falkirk and so the future looks bright."
