Former Brazilian star Falcao is backing Roma for success at home and in Europe this season.

The former Roma midfielder declared: "I'm convinced that the Luciano Spalletti's team can be a contender in the race for the Scudetto and the conquest of the Champions League.

"He has brought together a group of talented players. Sure, above all at international level experience is crucial, but it is one characteristic that can only be acquired playing at high levels and this is what Roma are now doing."

On Roma captain Francesco Totti, Falcao added: "Totti is a born leader. His personality is one you have from birth, it is not acquired over time. Totti is a member of a small group of leaders, like Raul at Real Madrid."
