Fabregas realistic about making Spain team for final

Fabregas, a 34th-minute substitute for the injured David Villa, laid on the second and third goals for Dani Guiza and David Silva in Spain's 3-0 victory against Russia in Vienna.

"I will be here as soon as he picks me," said Fabregas, when asked about his chances of starting the final.

"Today I was playing a bit as a second striker. I think with Xavi we combined very well in the middle. Iniesta and Silva too. I think we all played well today."

Fabregas was delighted that, for once, Spain have not flattered to deceive in a major tournament and booked their place in a European Championship final for the first time since 1984.

"We came here to win the tournament," he added on ITV Sport.

"We have got to the final which I think is the most difficult thing.

"In the final anything can happen. For now we have to enjoy the moment and then look forward to the game we have been waiting for."
