Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas is out of Saturday's Premier League trip to Manchester United. Boss Arsene Wenger had given the Spaniard a 50-50 chance of recovering from a hamstring injury in time to face the champions at Old Trafford.
But on Friday lunchtime he revealed that his club captain would not be able to take part.
Wenger said: "Fabregas is out.
"His fitness test was not conclusive this morning and therefore he will not travel.
"Ideally, we would want him to play but he's not 100 per cent.
"What is important is that the players on the pitch are 100 per cent and now we have to focus on the players that travel with us."
