AC Milan are following Olympique Lyon midfielder Fabio Santos.
Controcampo says Milan chiefs see Santos as a direct replacement for Emerson, who has struggled for form and fitness since his arrival in the summer from Real Madrid.
Santos is tied to Lyon until 2009 and Milan are confident of landing the midfielder for around £4 million at the end of this season.
