Fabianski: No rift with Arsenal rival Szczesny

Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski insists his first team battle with Wojciech Szczesny is "friendly".

Szczesny has seized his own chance to establish himself as Arsène Wenger's first-choice goalkeeper but Fabianski does not feel any resentment towards the 21-year-old.

"I have known Wojciech since he was 15," explained Fabianski to arsenal.com. "We were together at Legia Warsaw, my former club.

"We have known each other for so long and we are good mates. I don't know if that makes it more difficult, but we are pushing each other and that can only help us.

"He got his chance [when I was injured] but with me it was exactly the same if you remember. Manuel [Almunia] got injured and I had my chance.

"In football it is like that someone gets injured and the other guy is having a chance because of that. That is the rule of football."
