Fabian Delph suffers suspected hamstring injury on Man City debut

Fabian Delph has suffered a suspected hamstring injury on his Manchester City debut today in Melbourne.

Delph's debut for City lasted just 18 minutes after he limped off during defeat to Real Madrid at the MCG.

The former Aston Villa midfielder had been handed a start by City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Just three minutes after he was taken off Karim Benzema opened the scoring for the Spaniards and it was 3-1 by half-time at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe adding to the Frenchman's opener before Yaya Toure hit back with a stoppage time penalty.

City were unable to hit back in the second half though, with Denis Cheryshev netting Madrid's fourth goal with 17 minutes to play.
