FA Youth Cup holders Norwich City thrashed Preston North End 6-1 yesterday at Deepdale.

Neil Adams' squad smashed four goals in eight minutes during the first period of extra-time to advance in their first outing since a memorable triumph against Chelsea's young guns in last season's final.

Carlton Morris cancelled out Jack Ryan's early opener for North End but neither side were able to make another decisive breakthrough in normal time until the Canaries cut loose with Harrison Heath, Rhys Browne, Jamie Eaton-Collins and Morris putting the tie beyond doubt in a devastating burst before Ray Grant sealed the win.
