FA warn Man Utd's van Gaal over conduct

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been warned by the Football Association over his future conduct.

The Dutch tactician was charged by the FA over comments he made after his side drew 0-0 with Cambridge United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on January 23.

Van Gaal had hit out at referee Chris Foy, saying: "Every aspect of the match is against us - the pitch, the referee, everything that you can think about is against you."

These words prompted a reaction from the governing body of which van Gaal defended himself by suggesting he had never been punished for criticizing a referee during his managerial career.

However, the FA have released a statement suggesting that van Gaal had indirectly hinted unfair bias from the match officials while bringing the game into disrepute.

The FA statement read: 'Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Wednesday 18 February 2015, Louis van Gaal has been warned as to his future conduct after he was found to have breached FA Rules in relation to media comments.

'The Manchester United manager denied that his comments which followed The FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Cambridge United on 23 January 2015 alleged and/or implied bias on the part of the match referee, and/or brought the game into disrepute.'
