FA want to secure LA Galaxy star Beckham to ambassadorial role

The FA want to offer an official ambassadorial role to LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham.

The 34 year-old superstar underwent surgery last week to repair the torn achilles tendon he sustained playing for AC Milan and faces six months on the sidelines.

Senior FA officials are already aware of the massive popularity Beckham enjoys around the globe.

A senior FA source told the Sunday Mirror: “David can do a wonderful job for English football. The role of ambassador for the English game with the Olympics and 2018 World Cup bid on the go would be a perfect match.”
