FA to investigate Chelsea midfielder Fabregas’ Fernandinho face slap

The Football Association will look further into the melee that erupted at the end of Chelsea's win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Sergio Aguero's horror tackle on David Luiz at the Etihad Stadium has landed the Argentine a four-game ban and also sparked a brawl between the two sets of players.

City midfielder Fernandinho will be hit with a three-game ban for his straight red card which came for repeatedly grabbing Cesc Fabregas by the throat.

However, Fabregas has not yet escaped unscathed and his part in Fernandinho's actions will be investigated after he appeared to slap the Brazilian in the face.

Fabregas was booked at the time but it is unsure if referee Anthony Taylor produced the yellow for the slap.

The FA could still charge the Spaniard retrospectively for violent conduct.
