England's FA technical director Dan Ashworth says a top four finish at Euro2020 is now a must after their World Cup success.
Ashworth has insisted the aim is for the side to replicate this summer's progress to the final-four when England hosts the semi-finals and final of Euro 2020.
He said: “It's important that we now make sure that this World Cup isn't a one-off, that it isn't a false dawn.
"I think we have made good progress, but we don't for one minute think that we have solved all the problems because the bottom line is that we haven't won the World Cup.
“We have to push on. In two years' time, we want to be at our own party. The Euro semis and final are at Wembley and potentially we've got two or three group games there.
“Of course, we have to qualify first and there are some good countries we are up against. But we will attack the tournament. Once again we will want to play the maximum number of games, get to the latter stages and hopefully the final.
“We want to win. We are desperate to win and we will keep pushing to do that. We are desperate to bring something home for the country - or win it at home."
