FA general secretary Alex Horne admitted that he was stunned over comments made by two FIFA members today.
Argentina member Julio Grondona and Spain's Angel Villar Llona criticised the English Football Association for trying to postpone today's congress to elect the FIFA president and the comments have taken Horne by surprise.
"I was a bit surprised, but once a couple of people had got up and said it they poured more vitriol on to us," he said.
"I was certainly surprised that Grondona and Villar Llona went on, rambling about politicians and journalists."
And re-elected FIFA president Sepp Blatter has now been pressured into trying to overhaul the way the governing body acts according to Horne.
"I think he's been pressured to go as far as he has over the ethics commission and the solutions committee partly because of what we have done," he added.
