FA officially offer England job to Southgate

The English FA have officially offered Gareth Southgate the permanent England national team job, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph.

Southgate took over as caretaker England manager following the disgraceful exit of Sam Allardyce as manager back in September and it has to be said that the 46-year-old has done a very good job in steadying the ship for England following such a huge controversy.

Clearly impressed with Southgate's work, the FA have now offered the ex-Middlesbrough manager the permanent job as England boss with a deal worth £1.5 million-per-year and it is believed that the contract will run through till 2020.

It is understood that Southgate, who played for the Three Lions, Boro, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa during his playing days, is going through the finer points of the contract and is expected to agree terms with the FA.
