FA may take Redknapp for Euros before sending him back to Spurs

The FA may be ready to take Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp for the Euros before sending him back to White Hart Lane.

The Sun says the FA have not ruled out Redknapp becoming England manager just for Euro 2012 — then letting him return to Tottenham.

Redknapp is overwhelming favourite to succeed Fabio Capello, who quit this week.

It is understood he is torn about leaving Spurs when his exciting squad is on the brink of another Champions League campaign.

But last night there were signs the FA would consider letting a manager do the job for this summer's tournament — then select a long-term boss.

FA chairman David Bernstein said: "I'd say that is a possibility as all options are open. I am only talking common sense.

"We're not prepared to restrict ourselves at this stage.

"The new man might be English, he might be British, he might not be.

"He might be for the Euros only, he might be long term.

"We need to look at all the options."
