FA holds talks with Hull boss Steve Bruce over England job

The Football Association has been interviewed for the England manager's job, according to reports.

The Daily Mail is of the belief that the Hull City boss has held formal discussions with the FA about stepping into the vacancy created by Roy Hodgson's resignation in the wake of Euro2016.

Sunderland's Sam Allardyce has already spoken with the association and it has now been revealed that Bruce, who is very keen on the role, has met with FA chiefs but it is uncertain who out of vice-chairman David Gill, technical chief Dan Ashworth and chief executive Martin Glenn were present at the interview.

There is talk that the 55-year-old former Manchester United defender could employ the assistance of either Alan Shearer or Rio Ferdinand if he were to land the England job.
