FA hit Barry with misconduct charge after Manchester derby
Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association. The charge relates to an incident which occurred after City were beaten 3-2 at home in the derby against Manchester United.
The FA has taken action "for a breach of its Rule E3 in that he used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official".
The 31 year old has until 16.00hrs on Thursday to respond to the charge.
