FA happy to cover Arsenal's Walcott compo

Arsenal's compo claim against the FA over Theo Walcott's injury won't affect the organisation.

The Gunners will pursue around £300,000 if Walcott spends 10 weeks out of the side following his shoulder injury in the final training session before England's game in Germany this month.

Walcott, on £30,000 a week, will effectively have his wages paid by the FA for the time out injured - but the FA are taking it in their stride.

An FA spokesman said: "We have an extensive policy which would ultimately pay a player up to £100,000- a-week for a maximum of almost two years if that was necessary and the player was on that amount.

"Theo is on a lot less than that so I am sure our insurers are quite comfortable with whatever situation there may be regarding any compensation."
