Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has avoided a possible ban for an alleged eye gouge on West Bromwich Albion's Jonas Olsson.
The England international was caught on camera with his hand across Olsson's face during the Potters' 2-1 home loss on Saturday with the Football Association pondering a possible suspension for gouging.
The incident was missed by referee Anthony Taylor but upon reviewing the footage, the match official said he would not have issued a red card if he saw it on match day meaning that Crouch will not be charged retrospectively.
