FA dismiss Hodgson for England reports

The FA have denied speculation linking Fulham boss Roy Hodgson with the England job. A report in the Sunday People claimed that Hodgson was secretly being lined up to replace Capello after the World Cup, with the tabloid also insisting the Italian will quit England after the tournament in South Africa.

"Reports linking Roy Hodgson or any manager with the England job post the World Cup are just not true," said FA chief executive Ian Watmore in a statement on the FA's website.

"We expect Fabio Capello to remain in the post for the duration of his contract, which runs through to the summer of 2012.

"Fabio Capello has also made it clear that he expects to continue in the role after the World Cup and throughout the Euro 2012 campaign."
