FA Cup still has magic for Spurs fans - Dawson

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has thanked fans for their support in this week's FA Cup replay victory over Bolton Wanderers.

It was another 30,000-plus figure - 31,426 - in the competition at White Hart Lane after near full-houses against both Peterborough United and Leeds United in the previous two rounds.

The fans left the Lane happy as well after another double from Roman Pavlyuchenko and two own goals secured a convincing 4-0 win and a quarter-final tie at Fulham on Saturday, March 6.

"It was another 30,000-plus turn out on a rainy Wednesday night and that's full credit to the fans, but that's what they are about," Dawson, who captained the side, told the club's website.

"When we travel away we take massive crowds with us - just look at Wolves, Bolton and Wigan in recent weeks.

"You need the fans behind you and that gives the players a real lift, believe me.

"First of all it's up to us to play well on the pitch and when you have 30,000-plus in here singing loudly it's a real buzz."
