Louis van Gaal believes Manchester United's FA Cup clash with Arsenal this weekend is vital for both clubs.
The Red Devils host the Gunners in the quarter-final of the famous cup competition on Monday and van Gaal suggests the match is crucial on two levels.
United and Arsenal are fourth and third respectively on the Premier League table which tells van Gaal it could be a motivating factor for the remainder of the domestic season as well as being a pathway through to the FA Cup semi-final.
"United and Arsenal are placed third and fourth in the league, so it's almost like a final," he said.
"I hope we can give a fantastic match for the fans. I think if we beat them it is a big blow for them but if they beat us it is a big blow for us.
"It is a very important game, not only for the FA Cup but also for the rat race."
