Portsmouth made it a double for Premiership sides in FA Cup replays by defeating Bristol City 2-0 at Ashton Gate.
Last season's FA Cup winners were under pressure to progress through to the next round and some of that was eased in the 38th minute when Peter Crouch slid in to score the opener.
The goal comes with some controversy as the England international appeared to handle the ball in the area moments prior to putting it into the back of the net.
Niko Krancjar wrapped up the victory for Pompey two minutes from time although the result never looked in doubt as Tony Adams' side did the majority of the attacking.
Portsmouth will now host Swansea in the fourth round.
