The FA have rejected suggestions they are planning to change the FA Cup final to an evening kick-off. Due to UEFA demands for no matches to be played at Wembley for two weeks prior to the Champions League final on May 28, this season's final has been arranged for a weekend when a full round of Premier League games are scheduled.
The FA have pointed out there is still plenty of time for issues to be resolved but are adamant moving the final out of its traditional 3pm slot is not on the agenda.
"We have no plans to move the FA Cup final away from its usual kick-off," said an FA spokesman.
ESPN are due to screen the final live for the first time this season, with ITV the traditional terrestrial broadcaster.
Although they would almost certainly get more viewers for a later kick-off, the FA are acutely sensitive to the thought of upsetting traditionalists.
