FA CUP - 5th ROUND REPLAY: Hull City edge Brighton to move through to quarters

Hull City are into the quarter-finals of the 2013/14 FA Cup competition after beating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 at the KC Stadium.

The Tigers were able to force a replay with a late equaliser at the Amex Stadium last Monday night and went one better by getting past the Seagulls in front of a crowd of less than 11,000.

Curtis Davies opened the scoring for Steve Bruce's side in the 14th minute when he rose above his marker to loop a header from Robert Koren's free-kick in off the woodwork.

That goal came about 18 minutes before Hull's second which came courtesy of captain Koren whose set-piece deflected off Stephen Ward and in with some help from Seagulls keeper Peter Brezovan.

Brighton gave themselves hope with just over 20 minutes remaining when Leonardo Ulloa, who scored the opener in last week's 1-1 draw, glanced David Lopez's free-kick past Steve Harper.

However, the Tigers were able to hold out Oscar Garcia's Championship side to book a final eight fixture with Premier League rivals Sunderland to be played at the KC Stadium on March 8.
