Leicester City have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 3-1 win over Derby County at King Power Stadium.

Claudio Ranieri's under-fire Foxes finally produced something positive to write about due to a strong finish to the fourth round replay against their Midlands rivals.

After a goalless first half of very few chances, Andy King gave Leicester the lead in the first minute of the second half when nodding home Marc Albrighton's header from close range.

It appeared as though the reigning Premier League champions would use that ascendency to their advantage but just after the hour-mark, Steve McClaren's Rams responded.

A free-kick outside the area was played by Middlesbrough loanee Julien De Sart into the path of Abdoul Camara who fired goalward and saw his well-struck effort deflect past Ron-Robert Zieler off Ben Chilwell.

The contest was forced into extra-time for the second game in a row, following the initial 2-2 draw at Pride Park, and it was Leicester who edged ahead when Wilfred Ndidi, only on the pitch for four minutes, opened his Foxes account with a sublime left-footed strike that cannoned in off the upright.

The home side had been the far more dangerous of the two teams as the minutes progressed and were able to wrap up proceedings in the 114th minute when Demarai Gray produced a fine solo run, shrugging off two Derby defenders, and lifting the ball beyond Jonathan Mitchell.

The victory sees Leicester into the fifth round of the famous cup competition where they will meet Millwall at The Den on February 18.
