FA CUP - 3rd ROUND: Tottenham get job done at Leicester

Tottenham Hotspur have progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup after defeating Leicester City 2-0 at King Power Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs deservedly saluted in their third round replay with goals either side of the break from Son Heung-min and Nacer Chadli doing the damage.

The opener came on 39 minutes when Son received a ball from Tom Carroll, and while advancing goal-ward, Foxes left-back Ben Chilwell stood off the South Korea international who needed no invitation to thunder past Kasper Schmeichel from the edge of the box.

Earlier in the half, Ben Davies played a lovely cross into the area which Erik Lamela could not get his head over before Leicester new boy Demarai Gray forced a smart save from Michel Vorm.

Harry Kane drove a low effort which Schmeichel did well to keep out in the second half before the visitors secured their path through to the next stage in the 66th minute.

A slicing move from Spurs resulted in a lovely through ball from Son into the path of Chadli who neatly tucked his angled effort away.

Chilwell chipped a dangerous ball across the box for Marc Albrighton but the winger's volley was denied by Vorm as Spurs saw off Claudio Ranieri's Foxes to set up a fourth round clash with Colchester United on January 30.
