FA CUP 3rd ROUND: Birmingham make no mistake at Millwall

Birmingham inflicted on Millwall their first home defeat in the FA Cup since 2003 with a comprehensive 4-1 victory at The Den. Whilst Birmingham are struggling in the Premiership they showed their Championship hosts how to finish by racing into a three-nil lead by half-time with a brace from Matt Derbyshire sandwiched by a David Murphy free kick.

Millwall had their chances but failed to take them none more so that in the second half when they were awarded a spot kick which striker Steve Morrison fluffed.

Cameron Jerome made it four allowing the host's to finally find the back of the net in stoppage time through Danny Schofield.

And for those Blues fans who believe in omens, their only previous meeting in the FA Cup was in the fifth round in February 1957, which Birmingham won 4-1 away. The Brummies went on to reach the semi-finals that year.
