West Bromwich Albion chief Dan Ashworth is set to be confirmed as the FA's new head of technical staff today.

The Daily Mail says a start date has not yet been agreed with West Bromwich Albion, where he is sporting and technical director, but the FA are confident it will be before the end of the season.

Ashworth's title will be confirmed on Monday, but he will not simply be the technical director based at the new National Football Centre at St George's Park.

He will have a much broader role, heading up a new team that also works with the junior international teams and oversees football development.
