FA charge QPR for Faurlin transfer

The Football Association have charged Championship league leaders Queens Park Rangers for breaching regulations regarding Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin.

QPR have been charged with involving a third party in the then-club-record deal which saw the 24-year old join for £3.5million in 2009 from homeland club Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba.

Club official Gianni Paladini has also been charged over false documents sent to the FA when Faurlin's contract was extended late last year.

QPR released a statement on their official website saying that they recognise they have been charged but insist it is an honest mistake.

"Having co-operated fully with the FA's investigation, QPR and Mr Paladini shall be denying all of the charges and requesting a formal FA hearing to determine them," the statement read.

"QPR and Mr Paladini are confident that there has been no deliberate wrongdoing involved."
