FA charge Charlton boss Parkinson with misconduct

Charlton manager Phil Parkinson has been hit with an FA misconduct charge for his comments following last month's 4-3 win at Carlisle. Parkinson was critical of the performance of referee Scott Mathieson after watching his side blow a three-goal lead before Paul Benson spared their blushes with a late winner.

Speaking afterwards, Parkinson said: "He's a referee who I normally like, but I thought he was their best player for 20 minutes.

"In the second half he gave them every single decision, every single free-kick, but sometimes you have to contend with that away from home."

Parkinson has already served a two-match touchline ban this season after being sent to the stands during the 2-2 home draw against Dagenham in September. He has yet to respond to the charge.
