FA chairman David Bernstein is confident Roy Hodgson will lead England to the 2014 World Cup.
Bernstein is confident that Hodgson will get the team to Brazil, though.
"The England team is key to what we do and qualifying for the World Cup is as important a thing as you can have for the England team," he said.
"I was involved in appointing Roy Hodgson as the manager. I'd love to see him be successful with the England team. He's a first-class appointment. I hope he gets the support when he needs it.
"Heaven forbid if we don't qualify - but life would still go on. We'd have to work for the next Euros. But there's every chance we will qualify.
"We've had one or two draws which weren't maybe right. We should have won those matches. But it's in our hands. We should be winning those matches at Wembley to go through."
