The Football Association are appealing against the length of Tom Huddlestone's suspension at the European Under-21 Championship in Holland.
The Tottenham midfielder was dismissed in the Group B clash against Serbia for swearing at an official and received a two-match ban from UEFA.
He is definitely out of the semi-final against the holders and hosts in Heerenveen on Wednesday, but the FA hope he could be available if Stuart Pearce's youngsters make it through to the final at the weekend.
Pearce said: "We are attempting to appeal the length of the ban, we are hoping for that to be reduced to one match.
"We are not going to appeal what he said, which was a sending off offence."
