Spanish F1 star Fernando Alonso has backed former Real Madrid winger Robinho's move to Manchester City.
Asked if he regarded Robinho as a 'mercenary', Alonso replied: "Do not use that word. Robinho wanted to leave Madrid and in the end he left Madrid. I think Madrid also came out winning because if a player does not want to stay it can be detrimental to the team.
"I don't see anything wrong because Madrid also were paid very well for Robinho."
