Newcastle are expected to hand Rafa Benitez a new contract - and more to spend in the summer.

The Chronicle claims talks have not begun between the two parties, but United are confident Benitez will agree to an extension.

The Spaniard's current deal expires at the end of next season.

One of the staling points for Benitez has been the lack of funds handed to him this season.

But the report claims owner Mike Ashley will provide a significant amount for his manager to spend. However, he is still looking to sell the club if an offer that he deems suitable is presented.
